WHAT IS TIRA? TIRA was established to function as the international professional organization of ribes growers. Organizational goals include: to help develop a sustainable Ribes industry worldwide, to provide a forum to exchange knowledge about Ribes, to help optimize worldwide Ribes production, products and marketing, and to promote Ribes fruits and products to the general population of the world. As the health benefits and possibilities for many different types of Ribes products become known throughout the world, demand will continue to increase. The organization can provide a useful role in helping members of the industry plan and solve problems. Problem solving can be done at the national or regional level for those issues facing a specific geographical area. Global issues can be addressed at the international level of the organization, and issues facing a particular industry sector can be tackled by the appropriate industry sector committee.
