Gooseberry
  Sabine
(Ribes uva-crispa "Sabine")
    Midseason (early-mid July)

Red, medium thick berries.

Good taste.

Good frosthardy variety with upright growing habit, although bristle young shoots (spineless).

Prefers some sun during the day. ( any position exept full shadow will do).

Any soil that has a good texture will do (cover the soil with a good mulch - preferrably from wood origin)

Good fruiting variety, that crops every year. Good average crop.

Flowers around mid April but is good resistant to cold. Pollination mostly by solitary bees and bumble bees.

Care: Pruning to an open bush. Use some old compost as mulch and cover compost and soil with wood clippings..

Birds like the berries very much, so protection will be needed...
